These terms are an agreement between you and Gameeba ("we", "us") covering your use of the Gameeba mobile app and website. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. The plain-English summary: use the app for its purpose, own your own content, don't abuse the service or other people, and understand that AI-generated content can be wrong.
1. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age to consent to data processing in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
- You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.
- One account per person; don't impersonate others or misrepresent who you are.
2. Your content
- You own the content you create in Gameeba — scores, notes, photos, custom score sheets, local player profiles.
- You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service: storing your content, displaying it back to you, and sharing it with the people you choose (friends, invited players).
- When you add information about other people — local players at your table, photos that include others — you're responsible for having their permission.
- Don't upload content that's illegal, infringing, or abusive. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
3. AI-generated content
Gameeba uses AI to generate score sheets, answer rules questions, read scores from photos, and recommend games. AI output can be incorrect. Score sheets may miss or misstate a category; Meeby may answer a rules question wrong; photo capture may misread a number. AI content is provided for convenience, not as an authoritative source — the printed rulebook always wins. If you spot a wrong score sheet, the app has a report button; we review and fix them. Verify totals that matter, and treat Meeby's answers as a knowledgeable friend's, not a referee's ruling.
4. Acceptable use
Don't: attempt to access other users' data; probe, overload, or disrupt the service; reverse-engineer or scrape the service; use the AI features to generate content unrelated to board games; resell or white-label the service; or use the app in violation of applicable law. We apply fair-use rate limits to AI features; circumventing them isn't allowed.
5. Third-party content and services
- Game metadata (names, images, ratings) is sourced from BoardGameGeek. Gameeba is not affiliated with or endorsed by BoardGameGeek; their content remains subject to their terms.
- Board game names and artwork belong to their respective publishers. Gameeba is a scoring companion and is not affiliated with any game publisher.
- Sign-in via Apple or Google is subject to those services' terms.
6. Paid features
Gameeba is currently free. We may introduce optional paid features or subscriptions in the future; if we do, pricing and terms will be presented before you're charged, purchases will be handled by the App Store or Google Play, and refunds follow their policies. Features that are free today may become part of a paid tier, but data you've already created stays yours and remains exportable.
7. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep Gameeba available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features (or the service) at any time; if we ever discontinue the service entirely, we'll make reasonable efforts to give you notice and time to export your data.
8. Termination
You can stop using Gameeba and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, harm other users, or abuse the service, with notice where practical.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: Gameeba is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Gameeba's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, contact us at hello@gameeba.com — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.
11. Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms, we'll update the date above and note the change in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
